Description Adobe photoshop7.0 drawing from memory-about 2 hours..

After the traumatic failure of the first 'anaonymous nostalgia' I felt compelled to make a new one... Keeping in mind all the constructive critiscism for the last one (including "This sucks balls" from my closest friend) I refined the appearence and the rendering of the character...

Now that Ive deleted it, the explanation for the old one: (Those characters- they appear in probably the most intense moments of your story and rephrase their existance... No words, No actions- only their sight completes the scene... The aura of nostalgia that these irrelevant characters carry with them..
For those who are away and still remmember the smell of Meyci, Neyzen, Tavan Arasi, Eftelya or Orta kapi, try feeling that person that has been there -with you-, during the most 'important' minutes of your life, and that youve never met..

This nameless character (actually inspired by the 'SantaClause of Kadife st.) in the story of the Revolution, carries with him the essence of all that has come to pass... He never knew our 'heroes' nor their story, however has always been there in the background just existing as a memorial for the emotions worth of countless lifetimes...)

this image alone is stunning, but your words give it such amazing life. this is a portrait of someone who has seen so much, life-weathered skin and clothing, yet he still has innocent eyes of a child.

This is likely going to be a highly unpopular view, but I actually preferred the first version. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy this one a great deal as well, there was just something poignant about the first version that triggered a deeper response in me. Regardless, Im very pleased to have been able to see them both. I enjoy your work a great deal.

Incredible I'd say there's still work to do on the hair and beard, since it doesn't match the realism contained in his eyes. I love the fact that the mantle he's wearing has just the right amount of details needed to feel the texture, and still focuse on the eyes. Beautiful ^^

i don't know about the description. but i like renderings of old men (i dont know why. it's probably freudian). they've got more soul in their faces, i think. either way, this is a good old man, with lots of soul. fav'd!

This picture is just AMAZING.

I've met a few old chaps rather like this. Some of them have very interesting things to say, and very interesting memories; others don't want to say much if anything, but give the impression that if they did decide to open up, they'd be fascinating; some talk plenty but don't seem to make much sense.

wow, man, that's great. excellent painting, there must be a lot of effort in this, I love the way you created depth, the colours you used...and he has such an intense looks, so much emotion in this face.... I see frustration, bitterness, a weak hope....and a he seems to express one question: why?
stunning portrait... and you have both a very detailed and a rough style, and you know to use them perfectly.
maybe the strands of hair which are in the near of the face should have the same level of detail, but apart from that I can't crit anything. amazing work, that's a

I can tell you now that the first version of this pic didn't by any means "Suck Balls."
This one however, is so beautiful in its own way. Those eyes are amazing. I got the feeling that this fellow has seen so many things that are tough for him to remember and some that he doesn't want to remember. You captured that feeling well. Perfectly, dare I say. You have an amazing gallery and i'm thrilled that I stumbled upon it! Welcome to my watch and this is definitely a !
